Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist. If you have a doctor referral, please bring it along so we could communicate with the referring doctor if required.

However if you are receiving physiotherapy under a Workers Compensation claim, Third Party Insurance (CTP), Medicare or DVA, then a referral from your GP is required.

Do I need to make an appointment?

We recommend you make an appointment beforehand so you can be seen by the physiotherapist at your preferred time. An appointment will usually be available within 24-48 hours, though more often than not an appointment will be available on the same day.

How long are appointments?

Initial appointments last for approximately 40 minutes; follow up appointments are 30 minutes.

What do I need to bring to my first session?

It is best to bring any x-rays and scan results that you may have to give the physiotherapist as much information as possible. It is ideally to wear loose, comfortable clothing to allow the physiotherapist to access the injured body area for assessment and treatment. We provide towels whenever needed.

How do I pay for my treatment?

We cover most of the private health funds so if you have private health fund that covers physiotherapy, please bring your health fund card so we can process your health fund rebate on the spot and you only need to cover the gap.

Payment is required at the time of treatment and we accept cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and EFTPOS. If your treatment costs are being claimed through Workcover, Medicare EPC or Veterans Affairs then once the appropriate paperwork is in place there is no cost to you.

What if I cannot speak English?

Our physiotherapist can communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese. If you would like to attend the treatment session with you family member, we welcome the support of family members as this aids in the recovering process.

What if I am running late or cannot make my appointment?

If you are running late, please give us a call so we can try to accommodate you or you may be able to reschedule your appointment to later that day. If you are unable to attend your appointment then we require at least 3 hours notice otherwise a cancellation fee may be charged. We kindly ask you to make every effort to keep your scheduled appointments to avoid us having to turn other clients away when we are fully booked.
